About Chesterfield
Chesterfield is one of the most sought after areas in St. Louis and gives you a little bit of everything. You’ll find established neighborhoods like Baxter Lakes and Chesterfield Farms, larger upscale homes in areas like Wildhorse Springs, and newer development around Wildhorse Village. Homes can vary quite a bit in age, size, and price, but overall Chesterfield offers a more polished suburban feel with easy access to I-64, shopping, restaurants, parks, and just about anything else you need. One thing I really like about Chesterfield is the convenience. You can live in a quiet neighborhood and still be just a few minutes from everything.
Local Highlights
Chesterfield has a ton going on. Central Park is a great spot for walking, the Chesterfield Amphitheater hosts small scale concerts, and Faust Park and the Butterfly House are longtime local favorites. The city has nearly 600 acres of parks and trails, so there are plenty of options if you like being outside.
Food-wise, one of the places that really feels like “Chesterfield” to me is Annie Gunn's Restaurant. It has been a St. Louis-area staple for years and is a great spot for a nicer dinner, steak, or just taking someone somewhere that feels special. One of my favorite budget-friendly options is Firefly Grill and of course, Four Hands at the District. Chesterfield also has plenty of restaurants and entertainment options throughout what we call the Chesterfield Valley
What Buyers Should Know
Chesterfield is a big area, and the feel of the neighborhood can change pretty quickly depending on where you are. Some subdivisions have more traditional homes, while others offer larger homes, more privacy, and higher price points. There is also a mix of older homes and newer construction, so buyers should really look at the specific neighborhood rather than assuming all of Chesterfield is the same.
Location within Chesterfield matters too. Some buyers want to be closer to Clarkson Road and the more established neighborhoods, while others prefer being farther west near Wild Horse Creek Road and the newer developments. Chesterfield is also served by both the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts, depending on the property, so buyers should always verify the specific school boundaries for the home they’re considering.
