About O’Fallon

O’Fallon gives you a great mix of established neighborhoods and newer development, which is one of the things I really like about the area. You’ll find everything from ranches and traditional two-story homes to newer construction, villas, and larger homes in more amenity-heavy subdivisions. Twin Chimneys is a great example of a large, established community. It has more than 800 homes, lakes, pools, trails, and a clubhouse. Areas like WingHaven have great appeal due to easy access of I-64 and have a newer feel with neighborhoods built around shopping and restaurants. Countryshire is another popular subdivision that shows the variety of homes you can find throughout O’Fallon.

O’Fallon is also a pretty large city geographically, so where you live within O’Fallon can make a big difference. You can be closer to I-70 and the older parts of town, right in the middle of everything along Highway K, or farther south near Highway N and I-64.

Local Highlights

O’Fallon has no shortage of things to do. O’Day Park is one of my favorites, with a huge playground, walking trails, water features, and an amphitheater. Fort Zumwalt Park is another great local spot, and offers a huge pond that you can fish in. The city also has CarShield Field, Alligator’s Creek Aquatic Center, and plenty of sports fields and trails throughout the area.

One place I absolutely have to mention is Kinetic Park. It’s technically just outside O’Fallon, but if you live in this area, you need to know about it. This place is amazing, especially if you have kids. There’s a massive adventure playground, splash pad, pickleball courts, skate park, bike course and pump track, plus indoor climbing.

For food, Stefanina’s is an O’Fallon staple and the original location has been serving the area for decades. Ethyl’s Smokehouse is another longtime local favorite with BBQ, a big patio, and sand volleyball, while The Brass Rail is a great option for a nicer sit-down meal.

What Buyers Should Know

The biggest thing buyers should know about O’Fallon is that not all of O’Fallon feels the same. A house in Twin Chimneys can give you a very different neighborhood experience than a home in WingHaven, Countryshire, or one of the older neighborhoods closer to Main Street. Lot sizes, home ages, HOA amenities, and price points can change pretty quickly depending on what part of the city you’re in.

School boundaries are also something buyers need to pay close attention to. Properties with an O’Fallon address can fall within the Fort Zumwalt, Wentzville, or Francis Howell School District, depending on the exact location.
