About St. Peters

St. Peters has a well-established suburban feel with a wide variety of homes, from ranches and split-levels to larger two-story homes. Neighborhoods like Ohmes Farm, Country Crossing, Spencer Creek, and St. Peters Hills show just how much the housing can vary. One of the biggest advantages of St. Peters is convenience, with easy access to I-70, Highway 370, Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Main Street St. Charles, and the rest of St. Charles County.

Local Highlights

The St. Peters Rec-Plex is easily one of my favorite things about St. Peters. This place is seriously impressive, with indoor pools, NHL-size ice rinks, an indoor track, fitness facilities, and programs for just about every age. It has even hosted Olympic-level swimming and diving events. I remember going to many birthday parties at the Rec-Plex when I was just a boy.

For food, there are some great casual spots that are easy with the family. Hobo’s At The Legion is a longtime local favorite in Old Town, Pretzel Stop is a fun local option for pretzels, burgers, and sandwiches on pretzel buns, and there is a Costco for your ultimate budget-friendly meal. Ha, kidding… kind of.

What Buyers Should Know

The biggest thing to know about St. Peters is that the neighborhood really matters. Home age, lot size, updates, and overall feel can vary a lot depending on where you’re looking. Buyers should also pay attention to school district boundaries and the condition of bigger-ticket items like roofs, HVAC systems, sewer laterals, and windows.

To me, St. Peters is all about convenience, variety, and value. You’re right in the middle of St. Charles County with plenty of housing options and some really impressive parks and recreation nearby.
