About Wildwood
Wildwood offers a unique mix of suburban living and a more rural, outdoorsy feel. You’ll find everything from established subdivisions and traditional two-story homes to custom properties on larger wooded lots and acreage. With rolling hills, mature trees, and plenty of open space, Wildwood can feel much farther from the city than it actually is. The community covers a large portion of western St. Louis County and is served by the Rockwood School District.
Local Highlights
Outdoor recreation is a huge part of Wildwood, hence the name, with roughly 50 miles of multi-use trails throughout the city. Popular spots include the Al Foster Trail, Wildwood Community Park, Hidden Valley Ski Resort, and the many trails and natural areas throughout the western part of the city.
Wildwood Town Center gives you that small community feel and offers restaurants, shopping, community events, and the new Village Green gathering space, which hosts events throughout the year such as the Back to School Bash and Easter Egg Hunt, which are both really fun for the kids.
As a resident of Wildwood, with three young boys, one of our favorite spots in Wildwood is the newly developed Good News Brewing, where you can sit down, relax, enjoy good beer and pizza, and let the kids run around and play. Another favorite is Parkside Grill. A must try!
What Buyers Should Know
Wildwood is a large and diverse area, so homes can vary significantly depending on where you’re looking. Some areas feel like a traditional subdivision, such as Babler Park Estates, while others offer larger lots, winding roads, wooded acreage, and a much more rural setting, such as Indian Tree Run.
Buyers should pay close attention to the specific property and location, including utilities, HOA restrictions, lot characteristics, and whether the home has a private well or septic system. If you want more land, privacy, and a little more breathing room without getting too far outside the St. Louis area, Wildwood is definitely an area worth exploring.
